Three people are dead after a boat capsized on Reindeer Lake on the Saskatchewan-Manitoba border.
According to the RCMP, officers from the Thompson detachment got a call Tuesday that a capsized boat had been found in the water off Porcupine Island.
A 28-year-old woman had been found alive and had been pulled from the water, but three other people were missing. The 28-year-old woman was taken to hospital.
Officers were told the boat had left the northern Saskatchewan community of Kinoosao in the late afternoon Monday destined for Brochet, Man., but it didn’t arrive.
A search party from Brochet went onto the lake and found the bodies of a 50-year-old man, a 49-year-old woman and a 42-year-old man, all from Brochet. None of the victims were wearing life jackets.
The RCMP is continuing to investigate.
