Four Regina elementary schools have reported positive COVID-19 cases, with one forced to close a classroom due to the number of cases.
Regina Public Schools said Friday that cases had been detected at Arcola Community School and Ecole Massey School.
Later in the day, the division said the number of cases in a Grade 3-4 class at Massey prompted the immediate closure of the classroom. The students are to begin learning remotely Tuesday and are to return to school Oct. 25 if they’re symptom-free.
The Regina Catholic School Division sent letters to families about single cases at each of St. Timothy School and St. Theresa School.
According to the Catholic division’s website, there have been 10 cases identified at St. Theresa since Oct. 1.
In the past two weeks, Regina’s two largest school divisions have reported 99 cases at 45 schools. Children aged 11 and under aren’t eligible for COVID vaccinations.
Close contacts were provided with information about self-monitoring and self-isolation.
