Fall street sweeping has started in some neighbourhoods around Regina.
Residents living in the Crescents, Cathedral, Lakeview, North Central, Centre Square and Heritage neighbourhoods should watch for signs and visit the city’s website to sign up for sweep alerts as crews get to work on Monday.
City crews started at 4 a.m. and they work until 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Sweeping is expected to be finished by Oct. 29 depending on the weather.
Residents are asked to move their vehicles off streets when their area is scheduled. Parking off-street and sharing driveways with neighbours allows the sweeper to access curbs, parking lanes and catch basins to pick up leaves and reduce neighbourhood drainage issues.
“Street sweepers can create dusty conditions that reduce visibility. Please close your windows and walk on alternative sidewalks,” a release by the city read. “When driving, provide the sweeping equipment with lots of room, slow down and be safe.”
