10:00 – Has COVID-19 opened the door for a massive increase in federal spending? A new study from the Fraser Institute suggests Canada is headed towards unprecedented levels of federal spending, even compared to recessions and wartime. The study, authored by economist Jake Fuss, found that per-person federal spending is expected to reach at least $13,032/person in 2021-22, a jump of 34.8% from 2019 levels and up more than 65% from the peak of WWII. Fuss joins Gormley to share the details.

10:15 – The increasing prevalence of e-scooters has prompted some recent public discussion around where and when they should be allowed to be used. SGI wants to hear from members of the public and stakeholders about the potential regulation of electric scooters on public roads. E-scooters are currently classified as unlicensed motor vehicles.
