The Regina Catholic School Division has set the date for the launch of its proof-of-vaccination policy.
The division said Oct. 4 it had developed the policy for employees, contracted workers and volunteers. On Thursday, the division said it would take effect Nov. 22.
Starting that day, employees and volunteers will have to show proof of being fully vaccinated for COVID-19 or regularly show a negative COVID test result.
“This provides enough time for anyone currently unvaccinated to choose to become fully vaccinated before it is a requirement,” the division said in a media release. “It will impact all adults who work in or wish to volunteer in our schools, central office, other facilities, and school buses.”
The policy doesn’t apply to students or to parents who attend extracurricular events in the division’s schools.
On Thursday, the division also sent letters to families of some students at Dr. Martin LeBoldus High School, informing them a case had been detected at the school.
That followed news earlier in the day from Regina Public Schools, which reported cases at Jack MacKenzie School and Sheldon-Williams Collegiate.
