8:30 – The new legislative session got underway in Saskatchewan yesterday with Lt.-Gov. Russ Mirasty delivering the government’s throne speech, outlining their priorities for the upcoming session, which include economic growth, education, and crime-prevention. While new legislation banning protests that restrict hospital access was promised, COVID-19 was not the main focus of the speech, which included promises for more police funding, tax breaks for Indigenous resource investments and value-added agriculture investments, and some tough talk about equalization. Premier Scott Moe joins Gormley to tell us more about his plans for the fall session.

Yager says the pandemic and supply-chain issues are showing people the benefits of fossil fuels and globalization, a fact reflected in the current markets. Yager joins Gormley to tell us more.
