It sounds like the Grinch came around for Halloween instead of Christmas in one Regina neighbourhood.
Greg and Lorna Evans, who live in the Heritage area, believe three of their large inflatable decorations have been stolen.
One 17-foot-tall Grim Reaper, as well as two smaller inflatables from their rental property across the street, are missing.
Greg has security camera footage of what appears to be someone taking the largest inflatable during the night.
“It’s a heartache, because the kids are missing out. The kids come by and they enjoy it and the parents love it, but unfortunately, the unsavory group around here, they decided they want my decorations more than I did,” he said.
While the Evanses have a large collection, spanning three different yards on their block, Greg sees losing the inflatables as a big blow. They cost between $200 and $300 to buy one brand new.
“Not many people put this amount of money and this much joy into all the holidays. We love having the kids come around,” he continued.
Lorna said that they usually go all out for every holiday, be it Christmas, Easter, Thanksgiving or any of the others.
She thinks it’s a big part of their relationship with their neighbours.
“They stop and pose for photos by the different decorations,” she said. “It’s just sad that somebody’s taking that joy away from everybody.”
Greg said he filed separate reports with police Tuesday and Thursday, but, as of Friday, he hadn’t heard back.
