The downward trend of COVID cases in Saskatchewan continued Sunday.
In its daily update, the province reported 157 new cases and 231 recoveries, dropping the active total down to 1,665.
There were also six new deaths reported, raising the total so far to 872.
There are 191 people in the province’s hospitals, with 47 of those in the ICU.
According to the Ministry of Health:
- As of November 7th, there are 157 new confirmed cases of COVID-19, bringing the total to 78,724 reported cases
- The new cases are located in the Far North West (1), North West (15), North Central (31), North East (4), Saskatoon (32), Central West (1), Central East (16), Regina (29), South West (4), South Central (1) and South East (20) zones and three (3) new cases have pending residence information
- Twelve (12) cases with pending residence information were assigned to the North West (from September 20 (2), October 5 (3), October 6 (1), October 16 (1)), North Central (from November 5 (2)), Central East (from October 25 (1), November 5 (1)), and South East (from November 5 (1)) zones
- 78,724 cases are confirmed
- 19,252 cases are from the North area (8,551 North West, 7,900 North Central, 2,801 North East)
- 18,934 cases are from the Saskatoon area
- 15,477 cases are from the Regina area
- 9,619 cases are from the South area (2,116 South West, 2,858 South Central, 4,645 South East)
- 9,200 cases are from the Far North area (4,310 Far North West, 541 Far North Central, 4,349 Far North East)
- 5,671 cases are from the Central area (1,401 Central West, 4,270 Central East)
- 571 cases have pending residence information
- 1,665 cases are considered active and 76,187 cases are considered recovered
- Slightly more than one-third (34.4%) of new cases are in the age category of 11 years or under
- Almost one half (46.6%) of new cases eligible for vaccination (aged 12 years and older) were fully vaccinated
- As of November 7th, a total of 191 individuals are hospitalized, including 144 inpatient hospitalizations and 47 ICU hospitalizations. Of the 191 patients, 129 (67.5%) were not fully vaccinated.
- In addition to SK ICU counts, there are 18 residents in out of province ICUs. As these patients are receiving care out of province, this number is not included in the hospitalization counts in the dashboard. Since yesterday’s report, there has been one repatriation and two out of province deaths.
- Six (6) new deaths reported today. 872 Saskatchewan residents with COVID-19 have died, with a case fatality rate of 1.1%.
- 1,240,345 COVID-19 tests have been performed in the province. As of November 4, 2021, when other provincial and national numbers are available from PHAC, Saskatchewan’s per capita rate was 1,044,786 tests performed per million. The national rate of 1,228,241 tests performed per million.
- The 7-day average of new COVID-19 case numbers was 153 (12.7 new cases per 100,000).
