The homeless people at Camp Hope in Regina will soon have a place to stay.
In a news release Monday, the city said it has signed a lease for an indoor space, but wouldn’t say where that space is.
It’s not yet known when those at Camp Hope — formerly know as Camp Marjorie — will be able to move in.
“Work is rapidly proceeding to prepare the space for occupancy, and third-parties are preparing for operational responsibilities,” the city’s release said. “When the space is fully prepared to begin operations, the City and other stakeholders will make a public announcement.”
More than 100 people have been staying in tents at Core Community Park, also known as Pepsi Park, this fall.
