There’s so much more to life than the game of football.
The Edmonton Huskies proved that on Sunday afternoon. Their PFC season came to a close after a tough loss to the Saskatoon Hilltops in a semifinal, and a long bus ride home awaited them.
Roughly 30 minutes out of Saskatoon near the town of Borden, the team’s bus pulled over after the Huskies saw that a motorcyclist had been in an accident. The team’s trainers immediately began stabilizing the patient and waited on the scene until medical staff arrived.
Borden Fire and Rescue’s Facebook page stated that STARS Air Ambulance responded, and transported the patient. The post also said the help provided by the Huskies’ team personnel was very important.
“Borden Fire and Rescue would like to thank the Edmonton Huskies Football Team for stopping on the highway and the training staff for helping us stabilize the patient until Medavie arrived on scene,” the post read. “You folks were amazing to work with thank you for all of your help!”
