The Saskatchewan Health Authority is relaxing family visitation restrictions at hospitals in Regina.
The limits were put in place due to COVID-19.
In a release Wednesday, the SHA said the move from Level 2 to Level 1 was effective immediately.
Every inpatient, outpatient and resident at the Pasqua and General hospitals can designate two family members or support people who can visit. One person can visit at a time.
There are exceptions, however.
Critical-care units remain at the Temporary Surge level of visitation. Patients in ICU, ICU surge, cardiac care and cardio-science units can have two visitors, with one present at a time.
Those receiving end-of-life or palliative care can designate more than two family members of support people and two can visit at the same time.
Patients in maternal, postpartum and pediatric units can have two support people or family members present at the same time.
The COVID Unit 5E will be at Level 2 of visitation, where patients can designate one person to provide in-person support for care and/or quality of life needs.
Any unit that’s in an outbreak will move to Level 3, with visits for end-of-life reasons only.
Long-term care homes in the city will remain at the Recovery Phase, in which there isn’t a limit on the length of time people can spend with the resident.
If there is an outbreak at a care home, it will move to Level 2.
