Saskatchewan recorded 53 new COVID cases on Saturday. The low number is due to incomplete test information downloaded into the provincial database. It means the numbers will be reflected in Sunday’s COVID update.
The province recorded 170 recorveries moving the active case count to 1,324.
Two more Saskatchewan residents with COVID have died moving the pandemic death toll to 893.
Saturday’s update from the province shows 168 people in hospital including 48 patients in intensive care.
Twelve Saskatchewan residents continue to be treated in Ontario intensive care units. One person was repatriated since Friday’s report was issued.
A look at the numbers
The new cases reported on Saturday are located in the Far North West (3), North Central (3), Saskatoon (2), Central West (1), Central East (14), Regina (16), South West (1), South Central (2) and South East (7) zones and four (4) new cases have pending residence information.
A total of three cases with pending residence information were assigned to the Far North West (from November 11 (1)), North Central (from November 11 (1)), and South East (from November 11 (1)) zones.
Almost two-fifths (37.7%) of new cases are in the age category of 20 to 39 age category. Almost one-third (31.8%) of new cases eligible for vaccination (aged 12 years and older) were fully vaccinated.
As of Saturday, a total of 168 individuals are hospitalized; including 120 inpatient hospitalizations, and 48 ICU hospitalizations. Of the 168 patients, 108 (64.3%) were not fully vaccinated.
