The seven-day average of new COVID-19 cases in Saskatchewan continued its recent downward trend Sunday.
The Ministry of Health said the average was 111, or 9.2 per 100,000 people.
There were 110 new cases reported Sunday, along with 188 recoveries and one death.
An individual in the 60-to-79 age group who lived in the Saskatoon region is the 894th Saskatchewan resident to die as a result of COVID.
The number of active cases in the province dropped to 1,245, the lowest it has been since 1,203 active cases were reported Aug. 19.
The new cases were reported in the north-central (26), Saskatoon (24), Regina (18), southeast (13), central-east (seven), northwest (six), northeast (four), central-west (two), southwest (two), south-central (two) and far northwest (one) zones.
The hometowns of five cases are pending.
To date, there have been 79,497 cases reported in Saskatchewan along with 77,358 recoveries.
The new cases reported Sunday included 66 people who were unvaccinated, with 28 of those cases among children under the age of 11. There also were 42 people who were fully vaccinated and two individuals who were partially vaccinated.
The number of COVID patients in Saskatchewan hospitals remained steady at 168. There were 45 people in Saskatchewan ICUs.
There also were 12 Saskatchewan ICU patients receiving treatment in Ontario hospitals.
The 2,048 doses of COVID vaccine delivered included 1,552 second doses and 496 first shots.
