Another low-cost flight option has just been announced between Saskatchewan and Alberta’s capital.
Swoop Airlines said starting next June 14, it’ll offer direct flights twice a week between both Regina and Saskatoon and Edmonton.
From Saskatoon to Edmonton, prices initially start at $79 and flights are available Tuesdays and Saturdays. From capital to capital, fares can be found for as low as $49, available to book Sundays and Thursdays.
“We’re just really excited because this now makes five different airlines that are going to be be serving Regina in 2022,” said Justin Reves with the Regina Airport Authority.
Reves said Swoop is a part of the WestJet group of companies. He said the ultra-low cost carrier is similar to Flair Airlines.
“It’s no frills. Nothing is included other than your base fare and then you pay a little bit extra for what you need,” explained Reves.
This is just the latest in a series of discounted flight announcements for those in Saskatchewan. Flair recently announced some more flights to Winnipeg from both Saskatoon and Regina.
