A 47-year-old man died in a house fire in Regina on Monday.
Just before 4 p.m., Regina Fire and Protective Services responded to the 600 block of Montague Street for a call of a blaze in a home.
“Upon arrival, crews found a fully involved house fire,” Fire Chief Layne Jackson said in a media release. “Firefighters made entry and found one unconscious occupant who was removed from the home.”
The fire was under control in about 20 minutes.
Another occupant, a 24-year-old woman, got out of the house. She was taken to hospital in stable condition suffering from smoke inhalation.
Investigators from the fire department, the Regina Police Service and the Saskatchewan Coroners Service are working to determine the cause of the fire.
