The City of Regina won’t be plowing residential streets in the wake of the snowstorm that hit the city on Tuesday and Wednesday.
In a media release Thursday, the city said about 10 centimetres of snow fell during the storm. A residential plow is done when 15 centimetres or more falls.
A systematic plow, which starts with the city’s busiest and high-speed roads, starts when snowfall reaches five centimetres.
However, the City of Regina did put snow routes into effect on Wednesday afternoon.
No on-street parking is allowed along identified routes from Thursday at 6 a.m., to Friday at 6 a.m. That will allow crews to plow selected roads from curb to curb, improving traffic flow.
The parking ban is in place where there are blue signs with a white snowflake. Vehicles that are parked on a snow route during the parking ban will be ticketed.
