8:30 – On Tuesday, the province introduced Bill 70 in an effort to implement a more structured security service inside the Legislative Building and on the surrounding grounds. The bill would remove most of the sergeant’s responsibilities and a new security team would be put in place. The NDP has criticized the bill saying there is no need for the increase in security. Minister of Corrections and Policing Christine Tell joins Gormley to discuss why the government feels there needs to be more security at the Legislature. The minister will also explain the addition of the Saskatchewan Trafficking Response Team that is being added to deal with illegal weapons, drugs and human trafficking.
