The RCMP says alcohol may have been a factor in a two-vehicle crash that killed two people Tuesday night in North Battleford.
According to the Mounties, the Battleford RCMP got a call about a crash at 9 p.m., on the east side of the city.
A Dodge SX reportedly crossed the highway into oncoming traffic. One vehicle managed to swerve out of the way, but the Dodge collided head on with a Chevrolet Trailblazer.
The four occupants of the Trailblazer were able to walk away from the collision with minor injuries. A 53-year-old woman who was a passenger in the Dodge was pronounced dead at the scene and another passenger, a 56-year-old man, died later in hospital.
The 56-year-old driver of the Dodge was airlifted to hospital in Saskatoon by STARS air ambulance with serious injuries.
The scene had been cleared by Wednesday morning and there weren’t any traffic delays or restrictions in the area.
