For the second year in a row, seven-year-old Harlee Marre is honouring her brother in a big way by holding a toy drive for Santas Anonymous.
Harlee’s toy drive had a lot of success in 2020, when she collected countless toys as well as $2,250.
She did this to celebrate her brother, Max, who died of Gaucher disease more than two years ago when he was two years old.
Harlee’s mom, Christine Marre, says her daughter just wants to “share her love.”
“She wanted to do what she could to make sure that every child got a toy, so she was asking about Santas Anonymous and what it was. I explained it a bit to her and then she asked if she could collect toys and do it in honour of Max,” Marre said on Wednesday’s Greg Morgan Morning Show. “And now she has asked to continue with this and make it a tradition.
“She has got such a kind, big heart.”
Harlee will be collecting toys until the end of the day on Friday. So far, she has collected $655 in cash donations.
