8:30 – As we head into the holidays, Saskatchewan is ahead of the curve when it comes to booster shots and rapid tests, but ours is the only province in Canada without restrictions on private gatherings or capacity limits on events and businesses. Some are calling for more preventative measures from the Province as the Omicron variant continues to spread, but others are praising the government for allowing for normal behavior during the Christmas break. Where do you land? Is Saskatchewan taking the right approach to Omicron? Call 1-877-332-8255 and add your voice to our Reality Check poll.

David MacLean works with Canadian Manufacturers & Exporters, and he joins Gormley to tell us more about their calls to action. Then, we’ll hear a response from Don McMorris, Saskatchewan’s Minister for Government Relations.

12:00 – Local farmers and businesses are coming together to provide oats to families in need. Roy Klym is a local producer just northwest of Regina, and he has kick-started the Farm2Kitchen program with a donation of 67,000 bags of oats (valued at nearly $500,000). The Klym’s company Condi seeds will clean the oats, and Regina based Avena Foods will mill & process the oats making them ready to eat. From there local flax company, CanMar Foods will package and bag the oats, and the Regina Food Bank will distribute them across Southern Saskatchewan. Klym joins Gormley to talk about why he was inspired to start up Farm2Kitchen, an idea he hopes will forever change the way local food banks secure and distribute food.
