A 32-year-old man is facing charges after an incident that resulted in police using a Taser to control him.
Officers responded to an apartment complex in the 2300 block of Hamilton Street in the Transitional neighbourhood not long before 10 p.m. Wednesday.
Police received previous calls saying someone had broken into the building, followed by someone going through unlocked vehicles in the parkade.
After police arrived, they found the suspect in the parkade. The man ran from the police before he turned towards an officer and supposedly started to pull a metal object out from his sweater.
The officer fired his Taser. The man was taken into custody without further incident.
The 32-year-old is facing charges for a break and enter, possession of break-in instruments and possession of stolen property.
He is expected to make his first court appearance on Thursday.
