The recent surge of new COVID-19 cases in Saskatchewan continued Monday as the province reported its third day of more than 1,000 new cases in the past four days.
The Ministry of Health reported 1,069 new cases Monday.
New cases were detected in 3,661 tests, meaning 34.2 per cent of the tests done in the province returned a positive result.
Active cases in the province increased by 332, pushing the total to 7,750.
There are 119 people in Saskatchewan hospitals with COVID, including 11 people in intensive care.
There weren’t any deaths reported for the fourth consecutive day. To date, 961 Saskatchewan residents have died due to COVID.
A look at the numbers
New cases were reported in the: Regina (343), Saskatoon (268), southeast (92), central-east (73), south-central (62), southwest (32), north-central (49), northwest (12), central-west (nine), far northwest (eight), northeast (15), northeast (eight) and far northeast (two) zones.
There are 104 new cases without hometown information.
Eleven people from the province who tested positive outside of Saskatchewan were added to the total, which is now at 92,940.
The seven-day average of new COVID cases rose to 871, or 72.3 per 100,000 people.
There were 748 recoveries reported Monday, increasing that total to date to 84,229.
Of the 2,089 vaccinations completed Sunday, 721 were first shots and 1,368 were second jabs.
To date, more than 1.81 million COVID vaccinations have been done in Saskatchewan, including 868,635 second doses.
