The Saskatchewan Rush won’t be hosting a post-game party or concert Friday at the SaskTel Centre.
In a release from late Tuesday night, the team announced the changes due to a Saskatchewan band who was supposed to perform.
“The post-game party and concert on the turf featuring Canadian rock band, Whale and the Wolf, will no longer be taking place as the band is unable to attend. The Rush look forward to welcoming Whale and the Wolf back to Rush Nation at a game later on in the season. All fans that purchased VIP floor tickets will be eligible for a refund,” said the Rush release.
Vaccination policies are in place at the SaskTel Centre, with visitors needing to provide proof of double vaccination or an approved negative COVID test.
The indoor mask policy is also in effect, unless fans are in their seats, actively eating or drinking.
Doors open for the Friday affair between the Rush and the San Diego Seals at 6 p.m. with the opening faceoff scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
The post-game party and concert were originally scheduled to be a part of the team’s New Year’s Eve celebrations. The game was postponed by the league due to COVID concerns with the threat of the Omicron variant.
