A 59-year-old Grenfell man is facing charges after police recovered around $25,000 worth of property allegedly stolen from Regina businesses.
According to the Regina Police Service, the investigation into an online marketplace account began in December, when the items listed for sale appeared to be brand new and fromĀ one retail chain.
Police identified a potential suspect and a vehicle which had been used in a related incident in July. Last Friday, investigators executed a search warrant on a Regina apartment and seized evidence related to a Dec. 7 break-in at a business compound as well as an estimated $25,000 worth of stolen property.
The items were returned to the businesses to which they belonged.
A man was arrested and charged with break, enter and commit theft, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, possession of property obtained by crime for the purpose of trafficking, and failing to comply with a condition of release.
He was to make his first court appearance Monday.
