Eight classrooms at Regina public schools are shifting to online learning due to COVID-19 concerns.
Two of the rooms — the Grade 3-4 A classroom at Marion McVeety School and the Grade 1-2 classroom at Dr. A.E. Perry School — made the move Monday. Students are to return to in-person learning on Feb. 1 if they’re not symptomatic.
Six other classrooms — the Grade 6 A and Grade 2A classrooms at Ecole Harbour Landing School, the Grade 4-5 room at Coronation Park Community School, the Grade 1 class at Ecole Massey School, the Grade 1-2 classroom at Ecole Centennial Community School, and the Grade 6-7 classroom at Ruth M. Buck School — are to make the transition to remote learning Tuesday.
In-person learning for those classes is to resume Feb. 4, provided the students are symptom-free.
Regina Public Schools reported COVID cases also had been detected at Albert, Henry Braun, Ruth M. Buck, Centennial, Connaught, Dr. George Ferguson, Grant Road, W.S. Hawrylak, Henry Janzen, George Lee, MacNeill, McDermid, Gladys McDonald, McLurg, Ethel Milliken, Elsie Mironuck, Ruth Pawson, Plainsview, Rosemont, Seven Stones, Wilfrid Walker and Wascana Plains elementary schools, at Balfour, Campbell, Scott and Thom collegiates, and at Campus Regina Public.
The Regina Catholic School Division sent letters to families about cases at St. Angela, St. Augustine, St. Bernadette, St. Catherine, St. Dominic, St. Elizabeth, St. Francis, St. Gregory, St. Joan of Arc, St. Josaphat, St. Matthew, St. Nicholas and St. Pius elementary schools, and at LeBoldus, Miller and Riffel high schools.
