8:30 – The Freedom Convoy 2022 rolled into Ottawa over the weekend and truckers taking part say they’ll wait until they’re heard. 10:30 – Brian Peckford, who served as premier of Newfoundland and Labrador between 1979 and 1989, and is the last surviving signatory of Canada’s Charter of Rights and Freedoms, is now leading a lawsuit seeking to strike down the federal government’s mandatory Covid-19 vaccine requirements for air travel. Peckford says “The government has not shown that the policy makes flying safer—it simply discriminates,” and he joins Gormley to tell us more about the lawsuit and why he’s involved.
