An employee of a regional housing authority in Beauval was fired after an investigation into the misappropriation of nearly $91,000 in rent payments.
That was the only public loss included in the third-quarter report for ministries and Treasury Board Crown corporations issued by the provincial comptroller.
According to the report, a preliminary investigation by the Saskatchewan Housing Corporation for the period between January 2018 and September 2021 showed $90,745 in rent payments to the Beaver River Regional Housing Authority had been misappropriated.
The final amount is still to be determined, but the employee was terminated after the initial investigation.
Elsewhere, the Crown Investments Corporation tabled a report showing there weren’t any losses for the Crown sector. The Ministry of Advanced Education also said there weren’t any losses at Saskatchewan Polytechnic or regional colleges in the province.
