10:00 – Bill C-10 is back with a vengeance in the House of Commons. The bill, now known as C-11 and titled the Online Streaming Act, subjects streaming companies like Netflix to the same rules as traditional Canadian broadcasters, but critics are concerned it opens the door for Canadian Radio television and Telecommunications (the CRTC) to regulate and police user-generated content online. Michael Geist led the charge of opposition to Bill C-10, and he joins Gormley to outline the issues he says are still present in the new iteration.

12:00 – There are more than 4,000 charities and non-profits active around Saskatchewan, and we’re featuring some of the great people doing great work in this province during our new segment called “The Best of Saskatchewan.” In this week’s feature, we’ll check in with Gayle Morris, executive director of Camp Circle O’ Friends, Saskatchewan’s only summer camp program dedicated to children affected by cancer. Their camp at Arlington Beach features state-of-the-art medical facilities, as well as a the full range of indoor and outdoor camp activities, including water sports and a horse program. A team of volunteer medical staff offers the reassurance that the professional help of doctors, nurses, psychologists and social workers are on hand 24-hours a day, to offer first aid or a shoulder to cry on. Morris joins Gormley to tell us more.
