A 62-year-old woman from White City is facing fraud and theft charges after shareholders in an apartment complex in Regina went to police.
According to the Regina Police Service, the Financial Crime Unit launched an investigation after receiving a complaint from the shareholders.
Police allege what they called “a substantial mortgage” had been obtained by one of the directors of the corporation but the funds weren’t used to benefit the corporation. The woman was arrested and charged with fraud over $5,000 and theft over $5,000.
She was to make her first court appearance Tuesday.
