A 23-year-old woman has been charged after allegations of a sexual relationship between her and a 15-year-old boy were reported to Regina police.
Charges of sexual assault and sexual interference were filed against Tori Lynn Peterson after an investigation by the Regina Children’s Justice Centre and the RCMP.
The Criminal Code says sexual interference charges can be filed against a person “who, for a sexual purpose, touches, directly or indirectly, with a part of the body or with an object, any part of the body of a person under the age of 16 years.”
Regina police said they first received a report about the alleged relationship on Jan. 28 and handed the file over to the Regina Children’s Justice Centre and the Mounties.
The investigation led to Peterson’s arrest on Tuesday. She was released on conditions and is to appear in court March 28.
