'Considering the circumstances ... this is best-case scenario,' Cole Cusitar said.
The Saskatchewan Roughriders added a CFL veteran to their offensive line Thursday.
The Roughriders announced they had signed offensive tackle Jamal Campbell, a 28-year-old who spent the previous six seasons with his hometown Toronto Argonauts.
The 6-foot-5, 292-pounder was selected by Toronto in the third round (22nd overall) of the 2016 CFL draft out of York University.
He played 59 games with the Argos, with 20 starts — including nine last season. He missed the final five regular-season games and the East Division final in 2021 due to injury.
The Argos released Campbell on Monday after failing to rework his contract.
Campbell took up football after the Argos supplied equipment to his Toronto high school.
