Nearly five months after a 16-year-old girl was killed in Regina, a second suspect has been charged in connection with her murder.
The Regina Police Service said Wednesday a 16-year-old boy had been charged in the Nov. 1 slaying of a 16-year-old girl. Police haven’t named the victim.
On Nov. 1, police were sent to a home in the 1200 block of Rae Street just after 2 a.m., for a report of a weapons offence.
When officers arrived, they found a 16-year-old girl dead outside the house. Police say an injured man was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
Police announced Nov. 2 that the girl’s death was a murder and, on Nov. 15, a 15 year-old male was charged with second-degree murder.
The investigation continued and, on Tuesday, a 16-year-old teen also was arrested and charged with second-degree murder.
Neither of the accused can be named under the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
