10:00 – Are solar and wind energy going to power the future, or are these much-touted renewable energy sources inadequate when it comes to meeting society’s needs? In a recent video for PragerU, Mark Mills, a Senior Fellow at the Manhattan Institute and author of ‘The Cloud Revolution,’ argues the energy dream differs quite a bit from reality. Mills, an expert on energy and technology, says mining would need to increase by more than 1,000% in order to provide enough raw materials needed for batteries and green power generation as a replacement for oil, gas, and coal. According to Mills, green tech is significantly more material-intensive than traditional energy sources, and he joins Gormley to tell us about the issue.
