SaskPower is getting closer to getting all of its customers in the southwest their power back.
“Crews made excellent progress (Sunday), with only 29 customers currently without power (as of 7:30 p.m.). It’s expected that these remaining customers will be restored by 10 p.m. (Monday) evening,” a release read.
Power went out in the southwest corner Tuesday due to a significant snowstorm in the area.
The company says the remaining sections of the damaged power lines are in remote and hard-to-access locations with very difficult terrain to negotiate. Several crews will be redeployed to these areas with hopes of wrapping up Monday night.
The SaskPower Outage Centre has fielded more than 5,000 calls since the beginning of the storm event on Tuesday.
“SaskPower thanks its customers for their patience and understanding as crews work incredibly hard to restore service following this spring storm. The manpower, logistics, and material needed to restore service has been significant, and everyone’s understanding has been greatly appreciated,” the release read.
