The CFL’s Saskatchewan Roughriders have signed defensive back Jermaine Kelly to their roster ahead of training camp.
The California product was selected by the Houston Texans in the seventh round (222 overall) of the 2018 NFL draft.
The 6-foot-1, 204-pounder was signed to the San Francisco 49ers’ practice roster in December 2019 and stayed there until the summer of 2020.
He attended CFL training camp with the B.C. Lions in 2021.
Kelly spent three seasons at San Jose State University, playing in 25 games with the Spartans. Over that time, he registered 79 tackles, 18 pass knockdowns, two fumble recoveries and an interception.
