As the calendar flips into the month of May, the province is starting off with plenty of sunshine across the board.
Environment Canada’s Dan Fulton says the temperature highs this upcoming week are much higher than usual.
“(It’s) building up to 25, 28 on Thursday so definitely above normal,” Fulton said.
According to Fulton, the average temperature around this time of year is around 16 C.
“Even getting close to records, records are around the 30 mark so (we’re) getting up there, but (it’s) dry. No (precipitation is) in the forecast,” he said.
Fulton says he feels for farmers who are desperate for as much rain as possible to help with moisture.
“It gets worse as you move from Saskatoon and west basically. It looks like very dry conditions there. It gets a little bit better in the eastern part of the province,” Fulton said.
