8:30 – Gas prices in Saskatchewan spiked this week, with some stations in Regina and Saskatoon jumping as much as 15 cents/L, with regular gas coming in at $1.79/L. Gas price analyst Dan McTeague joins Gormley to tell us what’s behind the jump, and his outlook for the weeks ahead.

10:00 – The Trudeau government is looking into the possibility of a nationwide ban on handguns. According to reports, the feds are considering a blanket ban as a “last resort” option while introducing legislation to financially support any provinces that put their own restrictions in place. Edward Burlew, lawyer and firearms advocate, joins Gormley to discuss the possibility of a ban and the pushback against the Trudeau government’s firearms legislation.

11:00 – According to the Saskatchewan Realtors Association, sales have slowed significantly since the record set in April of 2021. Last month saw 4,873 sales in our province, lower than the three previous months. But while sales were slow, prices are up to record levels, with residential benchmark prices rising to $295,000 in April, a jump of 2% over March. Chris Guérette, CEO of the Saskatchewan Realtors Association, joins John to tell us about the current housing market in Saskatchewan and what she sees for the months ahead.

12:00 – A group of volunteers in looking for ways to help out during the conflict in Ukraine formed the Sunflower Network, and are working to help those fleeing the conflict get settled and start a new life in Saskatchewan and Alberta. The group consists of about 25 volunteer members including Steve Halabura, who hosted Dr. Suhyb Abulibdeh and his wife Oksana Pietushkova at his home last month before getting them settled into their own apartment in Martensville. Halabura and Abulibdeh join Gormley to tell us about the Sunflower Network.
