The Regina Police Service is asking for the public’s help as it tries to solve a daytime theft from a jewellery store in the Southland Mall on Tuesday.
In a media release, police said officers responded just after 11 a.m., to the mall for a report of a theft. They were told a man walked into the store, went to a display of gold chains on the back wall, grabbed several chains and stuffed them into a bag.
After leaving the store, the suspect went out a mall exit near the Regina Public Library branch. Police believe he got into a cab, but only went a short distance before getting out and running off.
He’s described as being between 25 and 40 years old, about 5-foot-8 and 160 pounds, with dark hair. He was wearing a toque, a grey hoodie and black pants.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Regina Police Service at 306-777-6364 or Regina Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
