A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for areas north of Regina and Moose Jaw.
Environment Canada updated its initial warning just before 8:30 p.m., for regions around Moose Jaw, Pense, Central Butte, Craik, Outlook, Watrous, Hanley, Imperial, Dinsmore, Humboldt, Wynyard, Lumsden, Fort Qu’Appelle and Indian Head.
Severe thunderstorm watches are in place for Regina and a number of other centres including Moosomin, Kamsack, Canora, Yorkton and Melville.
The weather service said the storm was capable of “producing very strong wind gusts, up to nickel-sized hail and heavy rain.”
Environment Canada said at the time of the warning that the storm was in a line from Bethune to Arlington Beach and was moving east at approximately 30 kilometres per hour.
