Traffic restrictions are to be in place Monday morning along Lewvan Drive as the city begins two projects to renew the road surface.
“These projects will improve drainage, extend the lifecycle of the road and create a smoother driving experience,” read a statement from the City of Regina. “The total investment of both construction projects is about $1.5 million.”
The first project runs along Lewvan from Sherwood Drive to First Avenue North. Two-way traffic will be maintained in the opposite lanes throughout the renewal, which is expected to take two weeks.
The other project is a two-phase renewal of Lewvan from Regina Avenue to Parliament Avenue.
The first phase, starting Monday and lasting two weeks, involves relocating the turning bay into the Regina Airport to improve safety and traffic flow.
Northbound traffic won’t be able to turn left into the airport at Regina Avenue, and will be detoured along 13th Avenue and Sandra Schmirler Way.
The second phase of that project, which will renew the road surface, is expected to start later this month. During the second phase, two-way traffic will be maintained in the northbound lanes.
