8:30 –Yesterday the Canadian government announced they were dropping the requirement for domestic and outbound international travellers to be vaccinated, starting on June 20th. Although these measures will be dropped, re-entry and masking requirements will remain the same. This includes the use of the ArriveCAN app, testing, and proof of vaccination. What does this mean for those who are planning an out-of-country trip this summer? Dr. Laurie Trautman, the Director of the Border Policy Research Institute at Western Washington University joins us to explain what this means for summer travel.

9:00 – James Bogusz, President and CEO of Regina Airport Authority joins us with a comment on the new lifting of vaccine mandates that was announced by the government of Canada yesterday. 10:00 – Bill S-7 is a cabinet bill that explains the legal grounds to search travellers cell phones and laptops if there is a “reasonable and general concern.” Senator Paula Simons published an article with TheLine.ca where she said “I have a ‘reasonable general concern’ that some travellers could be targeted for phone and computer searches based on their political views.” Senator Simons joins Gormley to discuss the effects Bill S-7 would have on travelers, as well as the ethical concerns that have been arising.
