A woman at the centre of a missing person’s case in Regina has been identified as the city’s latest murder victim.
On June 13, a family member told police that 63-year-old Anne Marie Zaremba hadn’t been seen or heard from since June 9. Police said at the time that a check of hospitals and other locations came up negative.
On Wednesday, the Regina Police Service said Zaremba had been identified as the victim in the city’s fifth murder of 2022.
Eight days after Zaremba was last seen, police officers responded to a call in the 1300 block of Oxford Bay in the Glencairn Village neighbourhood. Police found Zaremba’s body inside a building on the property.
Kenneth Glen Hubick, 75, was arrested and charged with second-degree murder and offering an indignity to a dead body.
Zaremba’s family initially asked police not to identify her, but gave their permission to release her name Wednesday.
