A woman badly hurt a month ago has died of her injuries, leading to upgraded charges against two people.
On May 23 at about 2 a.m., first responders found Lori Shannon Huntinghawk in the 1200 block of Garnet Street. She was taken to hospital, where she died June 6.
It was Regina’s fourth murder of 2022.
Two people — 24-year-old Tegan Lestat Laplante and 34-year-old Ashley Rempel — initially were charged with aggravated assault and attempted murder. After Huntinghawk died, those charges were withdrawn and replaced with first-degree murder charges against both of the accused.
They appeared in court Thursday, when their cases were adjourned to July 13.
EDITOR’S NOTE: The charges against Rempel were stayed on April 21, 2023.
