Two people died and two others were seriously hurt Tuesday in a collision between two pickup trucks on Highway 11 south of Prince Albert.
At about 8:40 p.m., Prince Albert RCMP officers responded to a call about the crash near MacDowall, which is about 30 kilometres southwest of P.A.
A 16-year-old girl — the driver and sole occupant of a northbound pickup — and a 46-year-old man driving a southbound truck were pronounced dead at the scene.
Another man and a child under the age of five who were passengers in the southbound truck were taken to hospital with what the Mounties called “serious injuries.” The child was transported by STARS Air Ambulance.
According to a media release from Parkland Ambulance, the child is a three-year-old boy while the injured man is 22 years old.
The RCMP didn’t provide an update on their conditions.
The Prince Albert RCMP and a collision reconstructionist are continuing to investigate.
