A 21-year-old man has been charged after allegedly firing a pellet gun at the head of another man early Sunday in Regina.
According to police, officers were called just before 12:30 a.m., to a house in the 700 block of Elphinstone Street for a report of a firearms offence.
They were told a man who was known to the occupants entered the house and fired a pellet gun at another man. Paramedics took the victim to hospital with injuries that police believe were non-life-threatening.
“Police learned that the suspect was known to carry firearms with him at all times,” a police media release said. “They also confirmed that he was wanted on outstanding warrants and was prohibited from owning or possessing firearms.”
Police subsequently found the man in a house in the 800 block of Elphinstone, where he was arrested without incident. A search of the house found guns, ammunition and other weapons.
The man is facing 10 weapons-related charges.
