One person was killed and two others were sent to hospital with serious injuries after a crash on the Trans-Canada Highway near Qu’Appelle on Sunday.
In a media release Monday, the RCMP said officers from the Indian Head detachment got a call at around 3 p.m., about two SUVs colliding in the westbound lanes of the highway.
The driver and lone occupant of one of the vehicles, a 50-year-old woman from Regina, was pronounced dead at the scene. Two people from the other SUV were taken to hospital.
The westbound lanes of Highway 1 were closed while police investigated. The road subsequently was reopened.
