Like most days recently, thunderstorms are a possibility throughout the province once again.
Environment Canada says hail, strong winds and rain are possibilities for Regina and parts of southeast Saskatchewan on Wednesday.
“Our thunderstorm threats are mostly just wind of 90 (kilometres per hour) and hail sized around two to four centimetres out of these storms,” meteorologist Alyssa Pederson said.
“So (the storms) are not as strong as we’ve seen over the last couple of weeks, but it still counts as some thunderstorm activity.”
As of noon Wednesday, Environment Canada didn’t have any thunderstorm watches or warnings in place for the province.
If the storm hits, Pederson says it could last into the evening before moving into Manitoba.
According to the weather office, the recent instability is a result of hot and humid conditions.
“You need something more in the atmosphere to move through and kind of trigger a thunderstorm,” Pederson said. “Every couple of days we’ve had something move through that’s been able to trigger that instability.
“Over the next couple of days and into the weekend, it is looking pretty stable.”
As this system passes, another batch of hot air is expected to sweep in.
Temperatures hovering near the low 30s are expected for much of the province in the days ahead.
