The Southey RCMP is investigating after a man’s body was found in the water near Saskatchewan Beach, roughly 55 kilometres northwest of Regina.
Police received the report of the man being found in the water on Sunday around 12:20 p.m.
In an update Monday, the Mounties said they got a report Sunday night of an abandoned vehicle in a parking lot near Saskatchewan Beach. Officers determined the vehicle belonged to the man, who was identified as a 49-year-old man from Regina.
His family was notified of his death.
The Southey RCMP and the Saskatchewan Coroners Service are investigating.
