An item the police called “an improvised incendiary device” was among a number of weapons seized when officers arrested a 33-year-old Regina man Wednesday.
In a release Friday, police said officers from the Online Stolen Property Unit and Street Gang Unit arrested the man, who was wanted on outstanding warrants for charges including assault, assault causing bodily harm, possession of stolen property, flight from a peace officer, and breach of release orders.
The officers who arrested him found guns, a machete and the aforementioned incendiary device in the stolen vehicle the man was driving. A search warrant subsequently was executed at a house in the 1200 block of McTavish Street, where more evidence was found.
The man is facing 14 new charges, including one for unlawful possession of explosives. He made his first appearance in Provincial Court on Thursday.
