Regina police say they’ve charged a 13-year-old boy who was found in possession of a gun Tuesday night.
Police say they got a call just before midnight from someone who had received pictures from an acquaintance that showed a gun.
The photos were investigated and it led police to a house on Regina’s south side. Police located the sender of the photos and arrested that person on an unrelated outstanding warrant.
Further investigation led police to a nearby apartment, where they located a sawed-off .22-calibre rifle. The 13-year-old was arrested there.
The boy now faces four weapons-related charges, one for obstructing a peace officer, and one for failing to comply with a release order. He can’t be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
